Facial contouring – or facial sculpting – is a new concept of facial contouring using advanced aesthetic medicine techniques, formerly reserved for surgery and today increasingly popular among minimally invasive treatments in the medical-aesthetic field.

What is the Face Contouring treatment?

  • What is facial contouring?
  • What does it consist of?

These are aesthetic medicine injection techniques which make it possible to redefine facial features – or specific parts of the face (nose, chin, cheekbones, jaw, etc.) – in order to “sculpt” and harmonize certain features in a targeted manner. In particular, the most frequently requested treatments are:

  1. Mandibular redefinition (jaw contouring)
  2. zygomatic remodeling
  3. rhinofiller

What is it about?

The most frequently worked areas are the zygomatic region, which tends to deepen and appear tired with age, and the jaw line, which tends to lose its definition and linearity. The redefinition of the cheekbones serves in most cases to regain the volume and symmetry of the cheek and face, alterations often due to aging, sudden weight loss or simply for aesthetic purposes. The jawline can be treated with fillers to give the face a more youthful appearance by correcting the typical jawline irregularities that appear over the years. The filler works in a way that is almost counterintuitive to the patient: it adds, reshapes instead of removing. The definition of the face is therefore not done by emptying or hollowing out the face, but by resizing the volume thanks to a personalized study of the individual case.

How does it work?

The procedure is similar to the most common filler injections. The procedure, which takes place entirely on an outpatient basis, takes approximately 20 minutes and is virtually painless. During the consultation phase, the surgeon identifies with the patient the areas to be treated, an anesthetic cream is applied and the actual treatment begins. Implantation is carried out using blunt micro-cannulas which allow the product to be positioned in a completely atraumatic manner.
