PRP injection for the face

In today's world of aesthetic medicine, there are different aesthetic treatments that are applied to rejuvenate tissues, allowing the patient to obtain an optimal and lasting result, in terms of correction, prevention and rejuvenation. Unlike plastic surgery, the treatments carried out by aesthetic doctors are much less invasive, which spares the patient the psychological stress linked to a real surgical procedure.

In this case we will focus on the PRP technique in the facial area, also known as Vampire Lift, which allows tissue regeneration using a completely natural and minimally invasive technique. In particular, we will dispel myths surrounding complications or side effects that may arise after treatment, which are totally rubbish.

Facial biostimulation with platelet-rich plasma or PRP is a medical-aesthetic treatment that stimulates the regeneration of collagen and elastin lost over the years and helps combat flaccidity, premature aging of the face, neck, décolleté and hands, define the facial frame, smooth scars, dark circles, stretch marks, flaccidity, revitalize the hair area, among others.

What is the PRP technique for the face

PRP is obtained by centrifuging the pull tube of the patient's own blood. Once centrifuged, we obtain a precipitate of platelets to which we add a compound called classic chloride, which will break the platelets and release the GROWTH FACTORS (without this step, PRP is NEVER effective). The PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) technique is a treatment that is part of aesthetic medicine and serves for the cellular regeneration of skin tissues, leading to a healthy and aesthetic improvement of the face, neck and any other area requiring overall rejuvenation. The revolutionary aspect of this treatment lies not only in the possibility of reducing the signs of aging, but in that of rejuvenating the cells from a physiological point of view: the skin does not simply become firmer, shinier and more compact, but becomes so from the inside.

Through this technique, growth factors injected into the skin produce the stimulation of new collagen and new cells, thus slowing down the normal aging of tissues. Indeed, facial skin undergoes a progressive loss of collagen, hydration and firmness, presenting unsightly signs such as wrinkles and the famous crow's feet. On the other hand, by deeply nourishing the tissues, the skin regains its vigor and beauty and becomes healthier.

This treatment can therefore be completely defined as anti-aging, because facial imperfections disappear gradually and almost completely thanks to the high density of injected growth factors, more than 10 times higher than that of the factors naturally present in the body.

How is the PRP technique for the face performed?

PRP treatment takes place on an outpatient basis and without anesthesia, as it is completely painless and quick, even in the post-procedure phase. The patient who decides to have this type of treatment will actually see a small sample of blood taken from the affected area – around 10 ml – and a subsequent series of equally small injections containing the enriched fluid.

One of the advantages of platelet-rich plasma facial biostimulation is that because it is a biological substance made by our body, it does not create a foreign body immune reaction and does not carry the risk of an allergic reaction. It is a blood derivative, exclusive to each patient, which stimulates the production of collagen, elastin and epidermal tissue, for smoother, brighter and better quality skin.

But before talking about the final injections, it is important to understand the process by which the collected blood is broken down and enriched with elements useful for cell regeneration. Just after the blood test, the blood is centrifuged to separate the white and red blood cells from the plasma, the liquid part where the platelets are found.

The liquid part, rich in Plasma and Platelets, will be used for intradermal infiltrations in the affected area, where the growth factors are released by the platelets themselves. In this way, the process of rejuvenation of the skin tissue can begin. The results are concretely visible over the following weeks.

What are the RESULTS obtained?

– The skin is smoother and younger.

– Flaccidity is combated.

– Wrinkles are reduced and small furrows disappear.

– The elasticity of the skin is increased.

– Firmness is obtained at the dermis level.

– More hydrated skin is obtained.

– The appearance of open pores is improved.

– Scars, keloids and stretch marks on the skin are improved.

– Facial redness disappears.

The results are generally visible after a week and reach their maximum after 20-30 days, seeing an effect of greater softness, elasticity and luminosity. It is recommended to carry out a cycle of three sessions per year with an interval of 30 days between each session. It can be used alone or combined with other treatments, depending on the needs of each patient. The procedure takes about an hour and application is quick.
